Continuer Classes
Have you been to our beginner classes? Done a few blocks and feel good about what you’ve learned?
Well, maybe it’s time for you to come along to our continuers class!
Our continuer classes are a… “step up”. Pun is most certainly intended.
They are still in a 6-week block format, although we usually cover different concepts, themes or styles in the two 3 weeks. For example, Lindy Hop for 3 weeks, followed by Balboa for three weeks.
These classes are a chance to use everything from beginners as a foundation for furthering your knowledge and skills.
We explore different shapes, rhythms, swing dance styles, refining techniques, developing personal styling, studying past and current dancers, quality of movement, musicality and so much more…

Want to join in?
That’s awesome! What do you do next?
Well, the first step (haha!) is to check out our continuers’ rubric. You can find it by clicking the button right over…
If you can’t remember all the things listed, maybe you missed a week, or it was a while ago - head on over to our Facebook Group for Beginner Students and watch some recap videos.
Brush up until you feel good about the majority of things in the rubric. You can practice by yourself, practice at our weekly social, or if you have a dance partner, you can practice with them
When you feel confident, talk to your teachers. Ask about dancing through the rubric and joining the class.
Your teacher will be able to:
go over the rubric with you
chat about what you’re confident with,
give you feedback in regards to the material in the rubric,
dance with you through the rubric,
what you’d like to, or are, working on,
and talk about when you can join the continuer’s class. (And if the next block is a good time to start.)
