Latest news 22nd April 2017

Hello everyone! Next month is World Lindy Hop Day and we are thrilled to be collaborating with Lucky Seven and The Swinger’s Club for the celebrations with a huge night at the Gov! Read on for more details about that. It’s a great time to reflect on where this wonderful dance came from and throughout May we will be sharing historical clips and interviews on our Facebook page. We’ve also put together a playlist on our Youtube channel which we will update throughout the month. Also coming up very soon: we have a beginner workshop (tomorrow!) and Balboa classes starting this Monday night.

Happy dancing!

What’s Balboa? Balboa is a type of swing dance that originated in Southern California in the 1930s and 40s. It’s all about rhythm, fancy footwork and connection with your partner. It has a close embrace which grew out of necessity to allow for dancing in packed ballrooms. It’s super fun and addictive!
